With Dr. Mabuse (1922) Fritz Lang created the prototype of a modern and multifaceted criminal, based on Norbert Jacques’ novella. Especially Karl Freund’s “unleashed camera”, a ground-breaking innovation for this period of time, caused a furore. Restored version with an adaption of Giuseppe Becce’s original score by Detlev Glanert. Conducted by Frank Strobel with the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Saarbrücken. Approx. 90 minutes.
