Excerpt Service
Transit Film provides – both for commercial and non-commercial exploitation – excerpts on historical, contemporary, political and other topics from its substantial range of movies, documentaries and “Wochenschau” recordings (weekly newsreels – up to 1945). The Transit Film excerpts are not available to private users.
The technical processing is carried out by the  Friedrich-Wilhelm-Murnau-Foundation (feature movies and cultural films) and by the Bundesarchiv-Filmarchiv in Berlin (documentary films and “Wochenschau” newsreels).
These services are utilised above all by the makers of compilation films and TV programmes. In this context the BBC is one of our regular customers, to name but one.
